BERLIN / Bikini Hotel

Named after the Bikini-Berlin building in which it is situated (sorry, bikini-clad staff is not a requirement of this hotel -- although I am sure that guests are more than welcome to roam about in their own bikinis), this new kid on the block in one of the most diversely cosmopolitan cities in the world has certainly made its presence felt.  Located on the west end of the city near the Tiergarten, the hotel has quickly garnered clients both locally and from afar due to its rooftop bar-restaurant with 360° views of the Berlin Zoo.  But there are several other hangout areas you can check out: the Monkey bar on the top floor for pre-dinner drinks, the critically acclaimed Neni restaurant just beside it, an all-day woodfire bakery serving fresh pastries, or the Burger de Ville where you can nibble on Zempow organic angus beef burgers.  In a design that combines urban with jungle, the super modern 149 rooms -- some of them named 'Jungle' -- offer views of the zoo's ape house and elephant enclosure.  It's definitely a place where you can get in touch with your innder animal.
