The re-opening of the former gentleman's club has been a lengthy process.  Born from Toronto's Oliver & Bonacini restuarant group (Canoe, Bannock), the building was acquired in 2006 and then shuttered the private club in 2011 when work began on the transformation.  

This Renaissance Revival House is the main focus of the building, with a 12-level annex added in the back to accommodate parking and hotel rooms. The main bar area is very British and majestic.  All of the rooms are heavily wood paneled with warm lighting, creepy dark paintings, plush seating, lots of gold.   

The menu has an extensive offering of whiskies, gins and various and sundry liquors.  The 200-seat restaurant is very English with “Québécois humour” -- meaning: Scotch eggs with St-Canut porcelet and turnip rémoulade, a crumpet with Earl Grey salmon, kipper butter, and rollmops (pickled herring), as well as veal cheek and kidney pie with stout, wild mushrooms, sweet peas, and kohlrabi.
